BROADBAND INTERNET
Here you can find links and information on anything relating to broadband internet, whether you need to setup from scratch, looking to change providers, do some speed tests or setup a wireless network, we can help!
Wireless Internet (WLAN) allows the user to access their internet connection without wires! This technology is ideal not only for laptops and pdas, but desktop computers which are located in rooms other than where the phoneline connection is situated.
Wi-Fi has also allowed public places such as service stations and public houses, to offer internet connections with ease to customers who want to access the internet using their laptops etc.
To setup a wireless network, you need a wireless router (some include an ASDL modem, others rely on one being connected inline) to transmit the internet signal and then you need a wireless receiver for your computer. The receivers are usually supplied as PCI cards which fit inside the computer, but USB and PCMCIA versions are also available which are usually used with laptops that do not have natural Wi-Fi support. The wireless routers and receivers are available from a range of manufactuers and offer different speeds depending on your budget.
